As the battle with Luppi continues, Hitsugaya accomplishes a sneak attack with his bankai and defeats Luppi. Meanwhile, Kisuke Urahara dodges Yammy’s bala using a portable gigai, toying with the Espada. Grimmjow nearly kills Ichigo, but is temporarily saved by Rukia. She too is nearly killed, but Shinji Hirako in turns saves her. Grimmjow decides to kill Shinji, but is overwhelmed by Shinji’s much better control over his hollow powers. As Grimmjow is about to release his zanpakutō, Ulquiorra stops him and all the arrancar return to Hueco Mundo. The mission, which was to bring Orihime to Aizen, had been completed.
