This special, shown originally at the Jump Festa 2005 Anime Tour, is set after the events of the Soul Society arc (episode 63). A shinigami named Baishin, who was sealed by Soul Society long ago is set free on Earth. A fateful encounter with Baishin leaves Ichigo in a bad state with Rukia, Renji, and other shinigami soon arriving from Soul Society to lend a hand to stop the destructive Baishin.

This special, shown originally at the Jump Festa 2004 Anime Tour and later released on DVD, is a pilot episode for the show. It is a different, one episode version of episodes 8-9, this special focuses more on Ichigo’s emotions regarding his mother’s death. The creator of Bleach, Tite Kubo, voices Kon in this special for only two lines instead of Mitsuaki Madono, the original seiyū of Kon. Definitely a good watch for any Bleach fan!
